Rare original 1928 press photo capturing the failed test flight of a home-built glider constructed by Paul Chamberlin of East Orange, NJ. The glider, with a 32-foot wingspan and weighing only 165 pounds, was designed to take off from a grassy slope in Hamburg, NJ, but ultimately failed to lift off. This image represents the pioneering but often unsuccessful early days of glider experimentation.
Stamped and captioned July 29, 1928, this is a historically significant piece of pre-Great Depression aviation history, ideal for collectors of experimental aircraft, homebuilt aviation, and vintage glider photographs.
