Celebrate one of the greatest milestones in aviation history with this stunning original 1927 commemorative photograph of Charles A. Lindbergh standing beside the Spirit of St. Louis. This oversized sepia-toned print features a printed facsimile autograph and inscription, reading:

"I am proud to have done it for America.
Very respectfully in your centennial year of 'Air Mail'.
Charles A. Lindbergh"

This photograph was part of an official post-flight campaign, mailed directly from Col. Charles A. Lindbergh c/o the Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis, MO. The set includes the original envelope, postmarked October 18, 1927, and bearing the iconic 10-cent Lindbergh airmail stamp (Scott C10)—a collectible in its own right.

  • Original 1927 print, larger than standard postcard size

  • Striking image of Lindbergh with Spirit of St. Louis immediately after his transatlantic flight

  • Printed facsimile signature and heartfelt inscription

💬 Historical Note:
Following his May 1927 solo transatlantic flight, Lindbergh became a national hero. That same year, commemorative photos such as this were sent to supporters and aviation enthusiasts. These pieces were often produced by the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce, which helped fund his historic journey. The included Lindbergh airmail stamp was issued to honor his achievement and promote U.S. air mail service.

📦 Condition:

  • Envelope: Typical mailing wear with small edge tears and toning; address and postmark clearly visible.
