This is a complete vintage "Handi-Pocket" Coin Bank folder issued by the New London Federal Savings and Loan Association of Connecticut, likely dating from the late 1930s to early 1940s. Designed by American Bancservice Co. and copyrighted between 1927 and 1941, these coin folders were promotional tools encouraging thrift through quarter-by-quarter savings up to $5.
This set includes both:
-
Original outer holder with bank branding and savings advice
-
Inner coin saver card with red slot covers from $0.25 to $5.00
Each coin slot is labeled with its amount, and the design promotes goals like homeownership, emergency funds, and children’s education. These pieces are not only nostalgic but also represent early 20th-century savings culture and advertising design.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, no major tears, minimal edge wear. Some slots may show minor signs of handling. Complete and unused.
A charming collectible for lovers of Americana, vintage banking memorabilia, or Depression-era ephemera.
