Original June 5, 1930 press photograph showing the U.S. Coast Guard rescuing passengers from the wreck of a Colonial Airlines transport plane in Boston Harbor. The ill-fated flight, bound for New York, crashed shortly after takeoff. Coast Guard Cutter CG-825 and small boats can be seen in action, with the plane’s tail number NC9875 clearly visible. One person was killed and eleven injured.
