Original real photo postcard depicting Charles A. Lindbergh at his family home in Little Falls, Minnesota. The image shows Lindbergh in his trademark leather flying coat, shaking hands with a visitor in front of the family residence. Captioned lower right: “Col. Lindbergh at Home – Little Falls, Minn.” with serial number 8003.
The reverse includes a handwritten note: “Souvenir of Little Falls Minn – Sept 14, 1929”. Publisher imprint at the left margin reads: A. Pearson, a known regional photographer and postcard producer.
This postcard was issued during the height of Lindbergh’s fame, only two years after his historic 1927 solo transatlantic flight in the Spirit of St. Louis. The image is a period artifact from when Lindbergh returned to his hometown as a celebrated national hero, and such postcards were sold as commemorative souvenirs to the public.
The piece is historically important both as Lindbergh ephemera and as a representation of early aviation celebrity culture in America. Surviving real photo postcards from this event are scarce and highly sought after by collectors of aviation and Lindbergh memorabilia.
